The Power in Having a Morning Ritual

Hi! I’m so happy you took some time out of your day to read a little love letter from me to you!

First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Natalie; I am a journalist, creator, seeker, and, more importantly, a student of life. Those who personally know me know I am obsessed with personal growth and development; I have been since I was 16 years old. For years, I have wondered what separates people from achieving an exceptional quality of life versus others who just accept whatever life throws at them. I have a VERY curious mind; I want to understand how people think and learn about their stories; this curiosity led me into the field of journalism.

I’ve had the opportunity to interview business leaders, spiritual healers, communication experts and overall, just some incredible human beings. I’ve read several books, attended seminars from some of the world’s top success coaches, and have spent countless hours studying people who produce extraordinary results in their lives. The learning never stops, and I love it. I have a burning desire to learn as much as possible, apply it to my life, and share it with others. One of my love languages is to share knowledge with others. I am no expert. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I actually know, but I can save you some time and share one of the most powerful tools I have learned throughout the years.

Have a morning ritual

The one thing I can confidently say after years of studying is that success leaves clues. Personal success coach Tony Robbins said this in one of his seminars, and it struck a chord within me. Robbins says, "people who succeed at the highest level are not lucky; they're doing something differently than everyone else does." Those are the people I'm interested in, so I decided to study some of the world's top financial giants, innovators, thought and business leaders, and I found a very strong common dominator; they all have a morning ritual.

By morning ritual, I don’t mean wake up, scroll social media, check emails, make coffee and get ready for the day. The morning ritual I speak of is filled with intention, purpose, and feeding your mind. You consciously design out a ritual to devote yourself to your goals, health, and mindset that you do every day. You either run the day or the day runs you, and it starts with how you wake up each morning.

Create a ritual that works for you

Your morning ritual can be anything that resonates with you and allows you to cultivate positive emotions. The quality of your life is shaped by the quality of where you live emotionally. A ritual could be meditating for 10-20 minutes, journaling and visualizing your goals, reading or listening to something educational, or practicing gratitude. It's about getting your thoughts, feelings and emotions primed in a positive direction before you start your day, which can drastically improve your quality of life. My morning ritual is non-negotiable; it's a moment to create with my mind and align my energy with my purpose. I have trained myself into this habit, and it has fully enhanced the quality of my life! I highly recommend creating a ritual for yourself. Play around and see what works for you, research someone you admire and learn about their morning ritual. Take time to Invest in yourself and implement a morning ritual it will have a powerful and long-lasting impact on your life.

Here are my top 5 recommendations to include in your morning ritual:

1. Tony Robbins priming exercise. This exercise incorporates deep breathing, gratitude, and visualization to put you into a peak state to radically change your physiology and create mental focus.

2. Louise Hay self-love morning ritual. Harnessing and cultivating the power of self-love will help to enhance and expand your real identity.

3. Dr. Joe Dispenza brain and heart coherence meditation. Understand and access the heart's intelligence to optimize your way of living.

4. Transcendental meditation, this practice allows you to get out of your head, connect within and get clear.

5. Life vision journaling. Start by taking a moment to get clear on where you really are in life, know where it is you want to go, understand your why and what you need to do or who you need to become to achieve it. Write this out and redefine your goals daily; it will help you stay focused and align you to your higher purpose.

I hope one of these examples resonates with you and adds some value to your life. Always remember, "what you practice in private, you will be rewarded for in public," another great Tony quote. Create the most beautiful emotional home for yourself by nourishing your mind, body, and spirit every morning.

With much love and gratitude,

Natalie
